The Campus Programme is endowed with a computer cluster.
It consists of a set of connected computers that work together, thus providing high processing capacities far exeeding that of a single computer. Computer clusters are already used by companies for different purposes, ranging from scientific computer simulations to code development.
As an example, a calculation code named TRIPOLI is currently used by the French CEA (Alternative Energy and Atomic Energy Commission).
It simulates the transport of hazardous particles and seeks to protect human health and the environment from radiation.
Likewise, using the ASTER code, EDF manages to solve different types of thermal and mechanical issues.
